At A Glance…

A+P: What book are you reading at the moment?

JL: Between the World And Me. I just got the book as a gift and can’t wait to dive into it.

A+P: You have traveled, lived, and eaten all over the world. What’s your favorite go-to restaurant?

JL: Although New York City offers all kind of choices, I love Greek food and had some of the best  in Germany, where I lived most of my life.

A+P: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

JL: You can be ANYTHING that you want to be in this life!! You just have to believe that it’s going to happen for you and then go hardddd. Nothing comes easy but you will be able to make your dreams come true if you work hard and never give up. Consistency is key. And let me tell you, it often won’t happen over night, it took me almost a decade.

Julia Lang holds many titles but my favorite? Boss. Whether you’re one of her many followers on Instagram or know her personally, you know she is one of the hardest working women around and has truly built a name for herself from the ground up. You can find her front row at international Fashion Week events, working as a mentor via Mentorly, or simply navigating her everyday life and Julia makes it all look easy while remaining humble. She fought hard to get to where she is and because she encourages other women to do the same, we were so happy to catch up with her.

A+P: There are so many layers when it comes to your career. What do you love most about your career?

JL: I love to travel. My job brings a lot of traveling opportunity with it. One of my favorite parts about my job.

A+P: How has traveling the world influenced your job as an image consultant?

JL: A lot to say the least. Traveling opens the mind so much and shifts my views to a way broader spectrum. Traveling allowed me to really be my true self - privately and business wise.

A+P: Through your work, you’ve brought effortlessly cool vibes to different male clients and brands where men are at the forefront. How have you managed to create your own lane in such male dominated industries?

JL: I guess by not accepting any “NOs”. If I lay my eyes on something it’s done. I will sure find a way to achieve it. BOSS LADY.

A+P: This year seems like it has been a breakout year and a game changer for your career. What has been your biggest break thus far?

JL: I really enjoyed sharing a bit about my journey on Hypebeast and its Business of Hype podcast. Not only felt it very freeing for me to finally share my path with a bigger audience - the hundreds of messages that I received after of how much listeners were inspired and learned was she most amazing thing.

A+P: I love your philosophy on never saying no when it comes to being asked to do a certain job. How has it strengthened your career and network?

JL: It can really be a hit or a miss. Jumping into cold water can lead to many new roads or close doors. Depending on how well it goes. Yet, I am still a fair believer that if something comes into my life, it’s for a reason. If I see potential in a project and the chemistry with a client is there, I usually go for it.

A+P: I’m sure your schedule can get quite hectic on a regular basis. How do you balance having a demanding career with carving out time for yourself to regroup?

JL: That’s a good question. And I often lack in finding a good balance. A nice work out or sleep in are my self-care gifts to myself.

A+P: I’m sure people DM you and reach out to you all the time for the opportunity to learn from you and I saw that you are now on Mentorly. How did that come about?

JL: Yes, so true. The owner itself emailed me after a quick chat on Instagram. Since I get so many requests to mentor people (which is an utmost blessing) I saw it as the perfect platform to really start doing it. Shout out to Mentorly

A+P: What you have built for yourself is so remarkable. What advice do you have for young women looking to build a long lasting career in marketing, image consulting and PR?

JL: Networking is key. Even before your career, it should be something that you want to constantly improve. Your network is your net-worth - basically, put yourself into rooms with people you want to work with.
